Overview

The tour begins at 9:00 AM from the Njegoš Park parking lot, with visits to key historical sites in Cetinje such as the court church on Ćipur, Cetinje Monastery, Biljarda, and King Nikola's Palace. After strolling through the town and seeing former legations and embassies, we proceed to "Fantazija" for a tasting of local Montenegrin specialties. The tour continues with an 11-minute cable car ride to Lovćen, a visit to the Njegoš Mausoleum, and concludes with a descent and return to Cetinje.

  • Departure is at 9:00 AM from the tourist info point at the Njegoš Park parking lot. First, we will tour the center and historical core of Cetinje. We start at the small court church on Ćipur, then visit the Cetinje Monastery, Biljarda, and King Nikola's Palace. The authentic exhibition showcases the life of the royal family in 19th century Montenegro. Next, we take a leisurely walk through the town, visiting some of the 12 legations and embassies that once existed in Cetinje. We then head to the charming local spot "Fantazija" for a tasting of the best Montenegrin specialties, including homemade wine and rakija from local Cetinje wineries, Njeguški pršut, Njeguški cheese, and Montenegrin priganice. After the tasting, we proceed to the Lovćen-Kotor cable car for an 11-minute breathtaking ride each way. Lunch is optional and can be arranged later, either on Lovćen or on the return to Cetinje. We then visit the Njegoš Mausoleum on Lovćen, climbing the 461 steps to the beautiful mausoleum where Petar II Petrović Njegoš, the ruler, poet, and bishop of Montenegro, is buried. You will enjoy a breathtaking view of all of Montenegro. We then descend from Lovćen and return to Cetinje, where the tour concludes.
