  • Škurda Canyon, located near the Old Town in Kotor, is among the more technically challenging canyons in Montenegro due to its numerous vertical drops and unique terrain configuration. The Škurda River, with its vertical catchment area of 600 meters, has carved through the Lovćen karst, leaving behind numerous waterfalls, sculpted vertical walls, and beautiful cascades. The adventure starts at 300 meters, where the most interesting part of the canyon for canyoning begins, and the path leading to the canyon entrance is part of the historic Kotor-Njeguši caravan route. Navigating the canyon involves descending almost its entire length using ropes (abseil), blending elements of speleology and canyoning. The total distance covered is about 400 meters, with a 200-meter elevation change. The journey features untouched natural scenes: turquoise waters, vertical cliffs, majestic waterfalls, pools, and corridors, making the passage through the canyon a memorable and magical experience. Since the canyon typically dries up by mid-summer, the ideal months for visiting are April through June (sometimes July). In case of adverse weather conditions, high water levels in the canyon, or other objective reasons, the guide reserves the right to change the schedule or cancel the tour.
