Niksic Tour Guide
Just 5.5 kilometers west of Nikšić, at an altitude of 600 meters, lies Lake Krupac – a favorite getaway for locals, affectionately known as “Nikšić’s Sea.” This artificial lake, created in 1950 for hydroelectric purposes, has become one of central Montenegro’s most beautiful leisure spots. Measuring 2.5 km in length and 2.8 km in width, Krupac reaches water temperatures up to 28°C in summer, making it ideal for swimming, kayaking, and other water sports. The shoreline features a beach, restaurant, cafes, and a promenade, while activities like fishing, camping, and boating are popular on the lake. Krupac hosts the renowned “Lake Fest” music festival each August, attracting rock music enthusiasts from across the region. In winter, the lake transforms into a picturesque scene, blanketed in snow, drawing photographers and nature lovers. Whether you seek refreshment, adventure, or tranquility, Krupac offers it all – natural beauty, recreation, and a sense of community.
