Tour guide of Kotor

The Square of Arms is the largest and most important square in Kotor’s Old Town. Located just inside the Sea Gate, it was the city’s administrative and commercial center for centuries. The name comes from the former city armory, once located here. Today, the square is surrounded by buildings that reflect the layered history of Kotor. One of the most prominent landmarks is the Clock Tower, built in 1602 in the Renaissance style, with Baroque additions made later. At its base lies a stone pyramid, a reminder of the medieval pillar of shame. Nearby are the Napoleonic Theatre, one of the oldest in the region, and the elegant palaces of noble families like Bizanti and Grgurina . The Square of Arms remains a vibrant meeting point where the past and present walk side by side. With every step across its stone pavement, visitors trace the stories Kotor still quietly tells.
