Mala Crna Gora – A Village on the Edge of the World

Gallery

Perched between the canyons of Tara and Sušica, beneath Mount Durmitor, lies Mala Crna Gora – a highland village almost 2,000 meters above sea level. Remote and quiet, this settlement preserves the spirit of old times: stone and wood houses, dense forests, and meadows reaching toward the sky. In the past, it was a hub of pastoral and rural life. The architecture reflects mountain survival – solid homes, small windows, and steep roofs that withstand heavy snow. Today, only a handful of people remain, but Mala Crna Gora still stands as a symbol of endurance and harmony between humans and the mountains. Its name echoes like a legend, and its silence speaks volumes.
